Commencement of Gadi Care Foundation’s Out-of-School Children Program

Yesterday marks a significant milestone for Gadi Care Foundation as we launch our Out-of-School Children Program. This program, which was launched in January 2023 and initiated on Sunday, 22nd of October 2023 stands as a testament to our unwavering commitment to improving the lives of the less privileged through education. The primary goal of this program is to create pathways for underprivileged children in Katagum Local Government Area (LGA) of Bauchi State to access and benefit from formal schooling.

A total of 200 pupils and students from primary, junior, and secondary schools in Katagum LGA were carefully selected to participate in this program. These children face various obstacles to their education, including never having attended school (50), lacking school uniforms (50), having no access to basic reading and writing materials (50), and experiencing financial barriers to school fees (50).

Gadi Care Foundation responded swiftly to address the unique challenges facing each group of children. The 50 new enrollees were immediately placed into different schools, taking their first steps on their educational journeys. For the 50 children lacking uniforms, the foundation provided the necessary attire to foster a sense of belonging and inclusivity. Another 50 were equipped with essential reading and writing materials, ensuring they could actively engage in their studies. Furthermore, school fees for the remaining 50 students, who couldn’t afford them, were fully covered, guaranteeing unimpeded access to education.

As a vital component of this program, 50 students were selected to participate in a year-long intensive training course at Ummul Qura Science Academy in Azare. This specialized training is designed to equip them with the fundamental skills in reading and writing, setting a strong foundation for their subsequent regular academic studies.

The initiation of Gadi Care Foundation’s Out-of-School Children Program represents a significant step towards addressing educational disparities in Katagum LGA. By breaking down the barriers to education faced by these children, we aim to provide them with an opportunity to receive a quality education and, ultimately, build brighter futures.

As we move forward, our foundation remains steadfast in its commitment to expanding these efforts. By fostering collaborations with stakeholders, leveraging partnerships, and mobilizing resources, we intend to reach even more marginalized children. Through our collective commitment and actions, we aspire to create a more inclusive and equitable educational environment, opening doors to education for all children in Northeastern Nigeria.

The launch of Gadi Care Foundation’s Out-of-School Children Program is a reflection of our dedication to making a positive impact on the lives of the less privileged. It is a step forward in our collective journey to empower children and provide them with the tools and opportunities needed to succeed in their education. As we kick off this transformative program, we hold a shared vision of a brighter future for these children, our community, and our nation.

We believe that every child deserves the chance to dream, learn, and succeed. However, we cannot do this alone. It is through the support of individuals and organizations that we can continue changing lives and building a brighter future.
