Gadi Care Foundation
. . . is a non-governmental, non-religious, non-political, and non-profit organization with
a steadfast commitment to uplifting the lives of the less privileged in Nigeria. Established in 2018, the
foundation operates with a mission to create positive change through strategic interventions in education,
healthcare, socio-economic empowerment, and community welfare.
Education
1. School Enrolment Program: Gadi Care Foundation launched the Out-of-School Children Program on January 1st, 2023. The program aimed to address the educational needs of children in Katagum Local Government Area who were not enrolled in school. A total of 200 pupils and students from primary, junior, and secondary schools in Katagum LGA were selected. Among them, 50 were new enrollees, 50 lacked school uniforms, 50 lacked reading and writing materials, and 50 were unable to afford school fees. The new enrollees were promptly enrolled in different schools. The foundation provided school uniforms for those lacking them. Students without reading and writing materials were equipped with the necessary tools, while school fees were covered for those unable to afford them.
2. Scholarship Programs: In 2018 and 2019, Gadi Care Foundation sponsored 10 students each year for JAMB and NECO registration as scholarships. In 2021, Gadi Care Foundation conducted a comprehensive screening examination for 250 applicants from various secondary schools within the Katagum Emirate. Through this rigorous evaluation process, 50 students successfully passed the screening and were granted scholarships to cover their JAMB registration fees.
3. Support for Tertiary Education: In addition to the above, Gadi Care also offers support to qualified candidates who aspire to pursue tertiary education.
Healthcare
1. Quarterly Healthcare Visits: Regularly visiting healthcare facilities, providing medical support distributing food packs, and covering hospital bills for patients in need. These were done at various Primary Health Cares in Katagum, Jama’are, Shira, Zaki, Giade, Itas/Gadau and Gamawa
2. Healthcare Awareness Campaigns: Raising awareness about health related issues and conducting educational campaigns within communities to promote better health practices.
Socio-Economic Empowerment
1. Vocational Training Workshops: Gadi Care Foundation conducted a public Lecture on “Societal Responsibilities Towards Poverty Eradication and Education”. Relief materials were also distributed during the program to some orphans and widows.
2. Entrepreneurship Initiatives: Gadi Care Foundation’s empowerment program, titled ‘An Initiative to Enhance Livelihood through Supporting Low Income Business’ has made a profound impact on the lives of 50 widows and less privileged individuals in our community. We distributed sewing machines, firewood, shoe making kits, and cash grants to orphans, widows and less privileged
Community Welfare
1. Food Distribution Drives: Distributing food items to the less privileged during periods of hardship, ensuring access to essential nutrition. The last was done on 7th August 2023, in which foodstuffs ranging from rice, beans, maize, millet, as well as cooked jollof rice were distributed to over 100 households in some parts of Jama’are and Katagum LGA.
2. Clothing Distribution: We usually collect gently-used clothes as donation and distribute those clothes, including warm clothing during winter and special occasions, to orphans and the less privileged.
3. Safe Drinking Water Projects: To provide a sustainable source of clean and accessible water, address water scarcity issue, and improve the living conditions of the communities; Gadi Care Foundation constructed six boreholes in Gadau, Laji, Malori, Jarma Quarters, Matsango and Rimil Yola. All within Bauchi North Senatorial District among others.
